Leaders Lead Luncheon Series featuring Dr. Elina Newman

CEF LEADERS LUNCHEON
Our Leaders Luncheon for WEDNESDAY, August 17th features Dr. Elina Newman! Dr. Newman, a distinguished professor at Southeast Community College, is 100% Armenian. She and her family were forced to flee out of Armenia into Azerbaijan, and from there, into Russia. In 1993, her family came to the USA to escape genocide and communism. She considers herself the American Dream as she has had many opportunities that she would otherwise not have had her family stayed in her home country. Coming to the USA with no English, she has been able to push herself to meet various milestones that she set up for herself, her latest one being obtaining a PhD (finishing her degree completely online during the height of the pandemic). Elina is married and has a 15-year-old daughter. In her spare time, she is heavily involved in leading the community in various efforts, including running for political office. You won’t want to miss her share how her faith in Christ inspires her in navigating leadership both personally and professionally.
