Who do you think makes the Chamber a valuable resource in Lincoln?
Beyond what might be considered typical Chamber of Commerce services, we are also the umbrella organization for the Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development, Lincoln Chamber Economic Development Corporation, Lincoln Chamber Foundation, the Lincoln Convention and Visitors Bureau, Lincoln Young Professionals Group and Lincoln Specialty Care.
All of our organizations pride themselves with consensus building and a constructive approach to problem solving for Lincoln. The Chamber works hard to maintain positive working relationships with our elected officials, stakeholder organizations and neighboring communities.
What have been your largest successes over the past few years?
We have experienced a great amount of success over the past few years. We were one of the largest advocates for the new Pinnacle Bank Arena, which opened its doors this fall. We also took a risk in 2012 to launch the brand for Lincoln in order to visually steer the momentum Lincoln is experiencing. Since the launch, the branding initiative has been a major success.
Recognized as a five star accredited organization, we were a finalist for the Chamber of the Year Award in 2011 by the American Chamber of Commerce Executives. A top of these major successes, we continue to be a large supporter of the burgeoning entreprenuerial scene and the established business community.
How many members does the Chamber have?
The Chamber represents 1,600 companies and 300,000 employees across Lincoln.

What makes Lincoln stand a part from other cities?
Lincoln continues to show up on top-ten lists for things like being a great place to raise a family and start a business, for our quality of education, low cost of doing business, low crime rates and as a hotspot for talented, young workers. We are proud to be a part of and to support efforts in all sectors of Lincoln to improve the quality of life for all of our citizens. We believe that a rising tide raises all ships. If local business are thriving, Lincoln is thriving.
What community organizations/groups are you involved with?
We work closely with all of our local, state and federal elected officials, The Univeristy of Nebraska, Nebraska Department of Economic Development, The Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce, State Chamber of Commerce, Lincoln Public Schools, Lincoln Airport Authority, Air National Guard, the City of Lincoln, Realtors Association of Lincoln, Home Builders Association of Lincoln, LIBA and Rotary.
What is the most unique or interesting thing about your business that most people don't know?
The Lincoln Chamber of Commerce does not endorse candidates for political office. We pride ourselves on educating our members and the public on where candidates stand on issues relevant to Lincoln and the Chamber of Commerce. We do, however, endorse issues and initiatives important to Lincoln. We provide four different policy forums in which members can attend free of charge to learn about issues and provide input.
