Carriker Chronicles Football Camp Returns to Lincoln with Sagewell Orthopaedics as Co-Title Sponsor

On Wednesday, July 8, the Lincoln Youth Football Complex hosted the 2026 Carriker Chronicles Football Camp, drawing hundreds of young athletes from the community for a morning of football fundamentals, skills training, and encouragement. 🏈

The camp was organized by Adam Carriker, a first-round NFL Draft pick, eight-year NFL veteran, and Nebraska Football Hall of Famer, and focused on giving players in grades K through 8 a high-quality, no-contact football experience. Campers rotated through eight stations coached by a staff that included former NFL players, former Huskers, and experienced youth football coaches. The coaching environment featured more than 35 coaches total, with over 15 carrying NFL or college football experience.

This year's camp included a special guest appearance from Tom Osborne, five-time National Champion and College Football Hall of Famer, who closed out the event with a message to all the athletes. A portion of camp proceeds benefited local and international youth organizations, including TeamMates, Team Jack, and the Belmont Community Center.

Sagewell Orthopaedics, a division of Syracuse Area Health, served as co-title sponsor. Dr. Scott Strasburger was on the field throughout the morning, coaching position groups and working alongside the camp staff. Sagewell athletic trainers Mike Livergood and Casey Scott were also on site, providing wellness support and staffing an athletic training tent where athletes could check in throughout the day.

At 11:30 AM, Sagewell hosted a parent info session covering how to support young athletes and recognize early signs of injury. At the close of camp, the team presented Sagewell MVP footballs to athletes recognized for their effort, attitude, and sportsmanship.

As a follow-up to the event, Sagewell Urgent Care is running a sports physical raffle through July 31. Walk in for a sports physical before the deadline to be entered to win a custom Sagewell football. The winner will be announced on social media on Monday, August 3.
