Leaders Lead Luncheon featuring Col. Jon Beckenhauer

.

CEF FIRST TUESDAYS
LEADERS LUNCHEON

Our Leaders Luncheon speaker for TUESDAY, November 7th retired Army Colonel Jon Beckenhauer!  Colonel Beckenhauer, a Nebraska native from Neiligh, NE, realized his calling was to fly and to go into the military.  He started flying lessons at fifteen, soloed at sixteen, and was the youngest pilot with a Private Pilot’s license on his 17th birthday.  He received his draft notice shortly after and chose to enlist and went off to Army flight school.  By the age of 19, he was flying some of the most advanced and most challenging helicopters in the Army arsenal, including the UH-1 Huey, AH-1 Cobra gunship, and the 5,000 horsepower CH-47 heavly0lift Chinook.  He served in three combat tours in Vietnam, during which he logged some 3,800 hours in flight time  During his three years over the skies of Vietnam, he completed over 2,000 missions and over 400 combat assaults into some of the thickest jungles and most hostile skies in the world at that time.

Come and hear Jon share stories and exploits of what it is like to be both a Christian and young soldier leaving home at 19 years old in 1967 for a country he had hardly heard of 12,000 miles away.  Listen as he gives glory to the Lord for his protection as his aircrafts were shot-up numerous times and, and he himself was shot down three times and wounded on three occasions.  You certainly won’t want to miss this luncheon and hear Jon Bekenhauer share how his faith in Christ inspires him in navigating leadership both personally and professionally, in the past, as well as today.  We look forward to seeing you!  RSVP TODAY!
