Diversity, Inclusion and Continuing to Change

.

Just months after protests across the country initiated important conversations about diversity, equity and inclusion, signs of necessary and long-overdue change are apparent in our community.

Though we still have work to do, numerous steps have been taken in the right direction as a Chamber, business community and city. The Lincoln Chamber's focus continues through education and the support of several local initiatives to implement fair treatment, resources, opportunities and advancement for all.

There are many ways to get involved in this important conversation. Our website is consistently updated with materials devoted to best practices and resources that companies can use to educate and implement change. If you have not signed our pledge, you can still signal your commitment to this important initiative by signing.

Local organizations continue to amplify the need for diversity and inclusion education and training. The Cultural Competence Center offers seminars, workshops and other training opportunities for businesses looking for ways to incorporate cultural awareness into their workplace culture and practices.

Together One Lincoln is a partnership of community members and organizations, including the Chamber, who are committed to strengthening the Lincoln community by creating dialogue and driving action that combats racial inequity. Visit their website to learn more about starting these important conversations.

Civic Nebraska’s Collective Impact continues to hold workshops on how to strengthen our community and address challenges while Lincoln YPG is working with Young Nonprofit Professionals on continuing meaningful conversations about race and equity.

If you or your company has a resource you want shared with others, let us hear about it! We want others to know what works and how we can continue to be a part of the solution. The Lincoln Chamber will continue to listen, observe and change so that we may truly be a community of equality.
