Calling Chamber Ambassadors!

.

(This column previously appeared in the April 12, 2021 edition of our First Call email)

When all things are considered, usually the best spokespeople for the Chamber are employees who work and represent the various member-businesses that make up our organization. Over the years, the Chamber has relied on these individuals to volunteer at events, promote Chamber membership and provide a variety of other assistance where necessary. These individuals are known as Chamber Ambassadors.

Exciting changes are coming to the Chamber Ambassador program that are aimed at making these individuals engaged with our membership and events, more so than ever before. One major change will be that the number of Chamber Ambassadors will be lessened to a maximum of thirty, allowing for a smaller, but energized group of volunteers who will have more opportunities to assist the Chamber, along with creating recognition for themselves and the member-business they work for.

Another new role for Ambassadors going forward is that of being a mentor to businesses that join the Chamber as well as potential new Ambassadors.  All new members to the Chamber will be assigned an Ambassador who will be a go-to-person as a resource and friendly face within the membership. Engagement with the Chamber is never more important than in the first year and these Ambassadors will help make a new member’s experience more complete.

Those interested in being a Chamber Ambassador are asked to learn more about the program and requirements to serve by visiting www.lcoc.com/ambassadors. All individuals interested in serving will need to fill out an application, including those that previously served as an Ambassador.

Serving as an Ambassador is a great way to become involved in your community and with the Chamber and we encourage everyone interested to apply. We look forward to announcing the new group of Ambassadors in the near future and working with them to continue moving the mission of the Chamber forward!
