Lincoln has a variety of excellent facilities to help it maintain quality health care programs for the community. BryanLGH Health Care System (East and West) and Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center provide comprehensive routine, acute hospital care, as well as many specialty services. The Veterans Administration Hospital provides quality care for Lincoln area veterans, and Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital works with rehabilitation patients. In addition to these hospital facilities, Lincoln also provides a 24-hour information and services line; an extended-hour illness and injury clinic called LincCare; eight nursing homes and several in-home-care agencies; a blood bank which serves Lancaster and Seward Counties; and a variety of physical fitness facilities. Lincoln also has been recognized for its network of substance abuse services.

Lincoln's health care costs are among the lowest in the nation and according to a study by Milliman & Robertson, Inc., a New York actuarial and insurance consulting firm, Nebraska businesses pay among the lowest in employee-paid insurance coverage.
