Eastmont Kicks Off $50-Million Redevelopment Project
Innovating to build a better lifestyle for the seniors of today and the future

Lincoln, NE. – June 12, 2019 – On June 12th, Eastmont will host a press conference for media and community leaders announcing a significant renovation and expansion project at their O street Campus, in partnership with Transforming Age, the non-profit organization that Eastmont affiliated with in 2017.   With the goal of creating a sustainable community for the residents of today and in the future, the $50 M redevelopment project will add indoor and outdoor amenities and expand the campus featuring 43 new apartment homes and a connection between the existing towers.

Founded in 1965, Eastmont was the first life care community in the state of Nebraska.
“We want this renovation to be as ambitious and forward-thinking as the community has always been.” Says Torsten Hirche, President and CEO of Transforming Age.

The architects behind the $50 M redevelopment, international design firm Perkins Eastman, bring expertise in innovative design concepts that incorporate natural surroundings into the concept. Known as “Biophilic design,” the firm has focused its design process on some key components that will integrate nature into the building.

“There are proven health benefits behind connecting our living experiences to our natural surroundings,” noted Leslie Moldow FAIA, Principal with Perkins Eastman and based in the firm’s San Francisco office. “It’s not only aesthetically beautiful, but having a connection with nature is an important component of the human experience that enriches lives and improves our mental and physical health. We believe it is essential to the residents’ wellbeing in a senior living community like Eastmont.”

Along with Eastmont’s new expansion, the organization is also unveiling a new look. Eliminating “Towers” from their name and logo, the new brand will take Eastmont forward into the next 50 years.

Intimate details on the reinvestment in Eastmont and the expansion will be presented to the Lincoln media at the press conference on June 12 at 4:30 pm.  Wine, cheese and refreshments immediately following the press conference.
