Each year, beginning in February and running through March, our city is center stage for state high school tournaments. The state high school swimming, diving and bowling tournaments kick off our tournament season. Wrapping things up, both the girls and boys state high school basketball championships are hosted in Lincoln. Lincoln rolls out the red carpet for these events and we are excited once again to welcome teams, families and fans to our city for great weekends of competition. The Lincoln Convention and Visitors Bureau provides visitor information booths at opening round venues and coordinates many other services to visitors during their stay. This includes a Lincoln tradition, pizza feed for teams and coaches on the opening nights each weekend. While we realize the most important aspect to our visiting teams is the opportunity to play in the state championship, we also cannot ignore the capital city experience that many fans have come to enjoy and look forward to on return trips to Lincoln each year. Our attractions, lodging, restaurants and shopping are a big part of the state tournament experience.
