Education and business assistance organizations statewide will be celebrating National Entrepreneurship week during the week of Feb. 23 – 27.
Lincoln organizations are hosting many events throughout the week to educate and promote entrepreneurship in Lincoln. The Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development will be supporting many of these activities through promotion to constituents, support and attendance.
Southeast Community College will be hosting “Meet the Experts” night. The event held at the SECC Entrepreneurship Center is set for Feb. 23 and is a free event open to the public. Attendees will have the opportunity to have free, one-on-one consultations on finance, marketing, insurance, and more.
Also, the Entrepreneurship Committee of the Lincoln Young Professionals Group will be hosting a financing seminar, in conjunction with the “Meet the Experts” event at the Entrepreneurship Center. Rick Wallace of Community Development Resources will be speaking about financing options for new technology businesses.
The third Nebraska Summit on Entrepreneurship will be held on Feb. 27, at the Cornhusker Marriott in Lincoln from 8:30am to 3 pm. The event is sponsored by the Nebraska Business-Higher Education Forum, the Gallup Organization, and the University of Nebraska.
Speakers include Bo Fishback, Kauffman Foundation, Vice President- Entrepreneurship, Governor Heineman, and Congressman Fortenberry. The summit brings together entrepreneurs, business leaders, service providers, students, and government representatives to dialogue and further entrepreneurial interest throughout Nebraska.
National Entrepreneurship Week provides an opportunity to focus on the innovative ways in which entrepreneurship education can bring together the core academic, technical, and problem solving skills essential for future entrepreneurs and successful workers in future workplaces.
