ACTION ALERT: Support the Build Nebraska Act

Contact Revenue Committee Senators to urge their support for LB 84!

LB 84 (Introduced by Senators Fischer, Campbell, et al) proposes to allocate ½ cent of the current state sales tax (beginning in 2013) to road funding needs. The allocation would continue for 20 years, with the funds designated to various, specific road programs and to an expanded bond program. LB 84 would reallocate about $125M annually of general fund dollars to crucial road needs.

The Lincoln Chamber views LB 84 as an appropriate prioritization of road and infrastructure needs. Statewide road funding needs have been neglected and underfunded for years and it is time to rectify this. LB 84 has a hearing before the Revenue Committee on February 10th and the Lincoln Chamber will offer support for the record and will continue to lobby this legislation to final passage.
